What we will not do
Saying no specifically is what makes the rest believable.
Every firm in this field says it is responsible. Here is what that word means for us, in terms specific enough to hold us to.
- Surveillance, facial recognition or policing technologyWe do not build systems that watch people, identify them, or predict what they will do. Municipal work with us is constituent services, permitting and records, not enforcement.
- AI making final decisions about hiring, firing, credit or benefits without a human in the loopA system can prepare, sort and recommend. A person decides, and the record shows who did.
- Rip and replace of core systemsWe make the tools you already use better. Your ERP, your case management system and your records system stay the system of record. If something genuinely needs replacing, we will say so, and it will be your decision on your timeline.
- Generic chatbots with no real process behind themA chat window on a website that answers nothing in particular is not a product. Everything we build is attached to a specific process with a measurable outcome, or we do not build it.
- Electrical work or safety certification in-houseLicensed electrical work and formal safety risk assessments to ISO 10218 and ANSI/RIA standards are done by licensed and certified partners under our project management. We are the accountable integrator. We are not the electrician, and we do not certify our own cells.
- Regulated data work without the right agreements in placeHealthcare, legal, municipal and defense-adjacent work each carry specific obligations. We do not touch regulated data until the agreements that govern it, such as a business associate agreement in healthcare, are signed and the architecture satisfies them.
What that means in practice.
Some engagements end in the first meeting because the request is on this list. That is fine. It is better for both sides than a project that should not have started.
Everything not on this list is governed by the same rule: the assessment decides what is worth building, on the evidence, before anything is bought. How the assessment works
